Federal Mobility Workshop on BYOD
Many Federal Civilian, DoD, State and Local organizations are considering options for leveraging the growing mobile trend to allow BYOD ( Bring Your Own Devices) onto their networks. While this is attractive for both hardware/service plan cost and productivity reasons, it poses additional challenges like how to secure these devices, manage corporate applications and prevent data loss on devices not owned by the enterprise.
Please join top mobility engineers from Symantec and ITS to discuss these trends and have some hands on training on how to manage BYOD and secure home grown applications. There will be two separate sessions, followed by a networking lunch where you can meet with your Public Sector peers to share ideas and possible solutions. The first session will be an overview of the Symantec Mobility solutions and how those solutions integrate into existing frameworks like Microsoft SCCM. The second session will be a deep dive on policy management and application management on mobile devices with best practices for securing these devices. After a networking lunch with your peers we will have hands on training for those who would like to see how to deploy these policies to Android, IOS, Windows or other mobile devices in their environment. We will be providing several devices for everyone to use, but we also encourage participants to bring their own mobile devices – tablets, phones etc so they can have a first hand experience on their own hardware of pushing out these solutions.
